About the Team and Opportunity:
SigFig’s Design team is pivotal to the success of our users and our partners as we reinvent personal finance. Our team is made up of product and marketing designers, design system engineers, researchers, and accessibility experts. Our multi-functional team collaborates across the entirety of SigFig by working with sales, marketing, engineering, and product managers to help craft user-centered solutions and lead innovation with design thinking practices. We know design can solve hard problems and be an impactful force but not without the people who have a diversity of thought and experience. The soul of good design is the people crafting it and we want to work with not just the best but also people that bring new points of view and different experiences that will improve our practice.

Our new Product Designer will be asked to make a big impact on our product, our agile engineering process, and our users. You will simultaneously be deeply embedded with a development team and working with a PM to define feature requirements. You will also collaborate with the Design Team on our SigFig Nest design system and participate in cross-functional Design Sprints.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • You will craft financial tools and experiences for consumers, financial advisors, and financial executives.
  • You will work closely with our engineering teams to help them maintain our design and accessibility standards.
  • You must be able to take complex concepts and simplify them into easy-to-understand workflows and visualizations.
  • You could be asked to design delightful experiences for multi-step onboarding forms, product marketing pages, user education content, and complex data visualizations.
  • You will nurture our design vision, working with product management and engineers to iterate and ensure we build innovative solutions to our partners' problems.
  • You will participate in user research sessions and partner meetings to define and prioritize requirements.

Ideal SigFigian for this Role

  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Portfolio showcasing your best work: strategy, process work, a variety of conceptual directions, and outcomes
  • Familiarity with industry standard apps and tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript is preferred
  • Interest in finance or personal finance
  • Strong interaction design and UX design skills
  • Experience with building a design system and marketing & sales collateral is a nice to have
  • Degree in Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or other design-related field
