RQD* Clearing is looking for a Staff Accountant to join its team and play a key role in the financial reporting. Responsibilities
Please note that this role requires you to assist with entities outside of the US Clearing Broker- Dealer holding structure. The other entities include a Hong Kong Broker-Dealer and its Holding company.
- Support the lifecycle of invoice processing for all entities which include upload into accounts payable invoice-to-pay software, coordinating invoice approvals across teams, posting to the general ledger, and handling requests for payment.
- Support preparation of net capital computation and daily Net Liquidity Value reporting for US Clearing Broker-dealer and Hong Kong Broker-Dealer.
- Support monthly closing process from beginning to end.
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger and run monthly depreciation and amortization reports.
- Maintain the prepaid expense ledger and run monthly amortization reports
- Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable sub-ledgers
- Assist and learn the weekly preparation of the 15c3-3 Reserve Calculation clearing business.
- Assist with responses to requests from outside regulators.
- Assist in preparation of budgets and projections for senior management team.
- Support the annual external audit of financial statements, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor questions and requests.
- Assist in preparation of regulatory reports (FOCUS, SIPC, etc.) for US Clearing Broker-Dealer in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred
- 1-3 years professional accounting experience public/private
- Willing to obtain Series 27 during the first year of employment.
- Previous exposure to the financial services industry, knowledge in clearing broker dealers a plus
- Knowledge of general ledger, accounts reconciliation, account analysis, and financial statement preparation
- Knowledge of SEA Net Capital Rule 15c3-1 and Customer Protection 15c3-3 a plus
- Solid analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Great interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently and effectively
