RQD Clearing is seeking an experienced Vice President, International Business Development to drive global revenue growth and expand the firm’s international client base. This role will focus on originating, developing, and closing sophisticated clearing and custody relationships with non-U.S. broker-dealers, fintech platforms, financial institutions, and strategic partners.
The ideal candidate has deep exposure to capital markets infrastructure, thrives in regulated environments, and is adept at managing complex, consultative sales processes involving executive leadership, compliance, operations, and technology stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in executing RQD’s international growth strategy while building long-term, strategic client relationships.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of RQD Clearing’s clearing, custody, market access, and operational capabilities, including relevant U.S. and international regulatory considerations.
- Assess international market segments, client profiles, and buyer personas to identify high-impact growth opportunities.
- Present and position RQD’s clearing and custody solutions to international clients, aligning offerings with regulatory, operational, and scalability needs.
- Execute international business development initiatives focused on new client acquisition, geographic expansion, and strategic partnerships.
- Source, qualify, and close new opportunities through industry relationships, conferences, referrals, and targeted outreach.
- Lead complex commercial discussions with senior stakeholders, guiding prospects through diligence, solution structuring, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate closely with operations, technology, compliance, risk, and onboarding teams to ensure accurate scoping and successful client implementation.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective clients by understanding their business models and articulating how RQD can support differentiation and growth.
- Monitor competitive dynamics, regulatory developments, and market trends to inform sales strategy and positioning.
- Represent RQD Clearing at international industry events, partner meetings, and client forums.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience in financial services sales, business development, or partnerships, with strong preference for clearing, custody, brokerage, or market-infrastructure environments.
- Proven experience working with international clients and navigating regulated financial markets.
- Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding revenue and growth targets in enterprise or infrastructure-focused sales roles.
- Strong working knowledge of global brokerage models, clearing and custody structures, and market access frameworks.
- Excellent executive-level communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the sales and onboarding lifecycle.
- Strategic, solutions-oriented mindset with a hands-on approach.
- Self-motivated and comfortable operating independently with senior leadership visibility.
- Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis (50%+).
