About the role

Compliance is a key team that ensures Revolut’s products and processes meet the regulatory requirements and translate this into the best customer outcomes. They’ve got an outstanding ability to find solutions and carry out testing in a purely digital environment. Those data-driven experts know that better people and machines are the most effective way of managing conduct risk.

We’re looking for an experienced Data Protection Officer who can help us in setting, delivering, and embedding Revolut’s data protection and privacy strategy within Revolut Newco UK Ltd.

What you’ll be doing

  • Acting as DPO for Revolut Newco UK Ltd and its UK subsidiaries
  • Setting up Revolut Newco UK Ltd’s data protection and privacy strategy, in collaboration with the Group DPO
  • Designing and implementing policies, procedures, and standardised risks and controls
  • Overseeing the effective implementation of Revolut’s Global Data Protection & Privacy Programme by Revolut Newco UK
  • Developing and delivering training programmes to enhance data protection and privacy awareness
  • Reviewing and signing-off Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Coordinating the response to personal data breaches on behalf of Revolut Newco UK
  • Monitoring the handling of data subject rights requests by Revolut’s central DPO support team
  • Liaising with the Group DPO and team on broader data protection initiatives and frameworks
  • Representing Revolut Newco UK Ltd in front of key stakeholders internally (Legal, Risk, etc.) and externally (UK regulators, advisers, vendors, partners, etc.)
  • Keeping up to date with the latest developments in privacy and data protection in the UK and assessing their impact to business operations and strategies

What you'll need

  • 5+ years of experience specialising in data protection and privacy
  • Experience as a Data Protection Officer, with demonstrable experience in UK data protection laws, regulations, rules, and guidance
  • A track record of successfully engaging with the ICO
  • The ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects at once with close attention to detail, and meet tight deadlines
  • An understanding of the interplay between compliance risk and business risk
  • Experience with complex privacy and data protection problems, balancing regulatory risks against business objectives
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to provide clear and concise advice promptly in ambiguous situations

Nice to have

  • Additional privacy and data protection qualifications, such as IAPP
  • Experience advising in fintech and payments, or on innovative, customer-oriented products/features
  • Expertise in regulatory investigations and dealing with breach investigations
  • Knowledge of international data transfer requirements, restrictions, and solutions
  • Experience in compliance risk management within a consultancy, compliance function, or regulator
