About the role

Revolut Merchant Acquiring is an integral part of the Revolut Business, offering payment acceptance solutions in the UK, Ireland, and across European markets. Supported by a full suite of products, including a Payment Gateway, POS terminal, Card Reader, and Tap to Pay, Revolut offers innovative payment solutions to small, medium, and large merchants.

We’re looking for a Business Compliance Manager to work within our Merchant Acquiring business. You’ll be responsible for supporting and advising the Product, Risk, and Sales functions on card scheme compliance requirements, payment regulations, and related controls within the first line of defence.

What you’ll be doing

  • Engaging with Payment Systems/Card Schemes and translating scheme rules into understandable requirements for the business to operationalise
  • Owning merchant acquiring related compliance matters, including PCI DSS, high-risk onboarding, and payment system compliance programmes
  • Offering solutions to compliance problems statements
  • Acting as an effective stakeholder between 1LoD and 2LoD teams
  • Leading the charge in steering our merchant acquiring products through the complex regulatory landscape
  • Ensuring every product launch is smooth, compliant, and ahead of the curve
  • Identifying potential compliance risks in our merchant acquiring offerings
  • Maintaining a risk and compliance register between Revolut and the card schemes
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across Revolut to design and deploy cutting-edge policies that meet legal requirements and drive business growth
  • Empowering product teams with knowledge and tools through impactful training sessions, making compliance a seamless part of the innovation process
  • Serving as the go-to expert and liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring our products shine in audits and setting new standards in regulatory reporting and engagement

What you'll need

  • 3+ years ofcompliance experience, ideally in the payments space
  • Previous experience in card payments, either with an issuer, acquirer, merchant, or payment system
  • An understanding of the compliance requirements impacting payments and open banking
  • Technical knowledge and expertise in managing card scheme rules, from identification to implementation
  • The ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects at once, and meet tight deadlines

  • A degree from a top-tier university
  • A track record of outstanding achievement in different areas
  • An understanding of how compliance risk and business risk interact
  • Highly adaptable skills for working in a fast-paced environment
