What you’ll do:

  • Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture. Ensure team members have the resources and guidance to succeed.
  • Guide the teams in making sound architectural and technical decisions. Provide input on key engineering challenges and ensure the adoption of best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of web applications and services, leveraging technologies such as Python, Django, TypeScript/JavaScript, Vue.js, Postgres, and AWS.
  • Develop, implement, and test prompting strategies for a variety of products over various LLMs, pushing the boundaries of AI capabilities.
  • Guide the maintenance of existing codebases and champion writing maintainable code through documentation, thoughtful architecture, and robust automated testing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and lead the architecture and strategic direction of the platform, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Drive the development of analytics and AI-powered features, ensuring smooth data pipelines, efficient storage, and insightful outputs from data models and machine learning algorithms.
  • Lead the creation and scaling of data pipelines, including working with data warehouses, optimizing data flows, and leveraging insights to fuel AI services.
  • Take ownership of team growth by actively participating in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members to enhance the team’s capabilities.
  • Set a clear vision for development best practices, methodologies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Manage team priorities and ensure the timely delivery of projects, balancing urgency with long-term business impact.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, establish best practices, and implement the latest tools and techniques to drive technical excellence within the team.
  • Foster innovation within the team by generating and nurturing ideas for advanced technological solutions that contribute to the company’s competitive edge.
  • [Required] Bring experience in building data pipelines and working with data warehouses such as Redshift, Snowflake, etc., and guide the team in optimizing their use.
  • [Required] Demonstrate hands-on experience in AI/ML systems, particularly in designing and deploying models, and translating complex data into actionable insights for business growth.

What you have:

  • Proven track record of success in large enterprise SAAS Software, distributed systems, scalability, data pipelines and continuous development
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 6-10 years’ experience OR Master’s degree and 5-7 years’ experience
  • 2+ years leading technical teams
  • Senior level skill-set with core programming languages (Python, Java, C#, C/C++, etc.)
  • Experience working with distributed systems, inter-service communication protocols, and APIs (e.g. REST, NSQ, etc.)
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL

  • Deploying into a public cloud service (AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and building scalable/redundant services
  • Experience with service monitoring, metrics, alerting, log aggregation, and tracing
  • Experience with functional/acceptance testing
