The position

To achieve this vision, we are hiring a Senior Accountant to manage and enhance our financial operations and ensure the accuracy and reliability of our financial information.

As we have just closed our Series B fundraise, we are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Accountant who can help us scale our accounting processes and support our rapid growth.

What You'll Do

  • Accounting Management: End-to-end management of QuickBooks Online (QBO), including bank feed, P+L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows statements, aligning general ledger accounting practices to support budgeting and forecasting.
  • Monthly Close Procedures: Lead the monthly close process, including managing revenue recognition, preparing monthly general ledger account reconciliations and analysis, prepare monthly accrual entries and journal entries, prepare and review monthly balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses, preparation and review financial statements in alignment with GAAP standards, identifying and monitoring variance in revenue and expense items.
  • Tax Management: Oversee the year-end tax process, including processing and distributing contractor 1099s, corporate year-end taxes, R&D tax credits, and liaising with the external tax accountant team. Continually assess the nexus thresholds and implement proper controls when necessary.
  • Expense & Vendor Management: Manage AP/AR invoice GL coding, ensuring the highest standard of vendor onboarding and experience, manage expense tracking, and oversee employee reimbursements.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Director of Finance to identify opportunities for system enhancements and lead implementation efforts to ensure the scalability of accounting operations. Recommend new procedures, instructions, and system modifications to improve the efficiency, timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of financial accounting systems.
  • Internal Controls: Manage and develop effective internal controls to safeguard accounting close processes and enhance the reliability of financial information
  • Accounting & Finance Projects: Assist with various ad hoc projects and implement suggested improvements.

Who You Are

  • Experienced Professional: You have 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting, with a solid understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting guidance such as ASC 606.
  • Accounting Education and/or Designation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience, CPA preferred or pursuing
  • Tool Proficiency: You are proficient in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Stripe, AP processing tools or software, Payroll & Benefits Platforms, and Financial Modeling.
  • Accuracy & Precision: You have a solid understanding of the nuances of internal controls and compliance needs, and are process-minded with a high attention to detail.
  • Organized & Efficient: You have excellent organizational and planning skills, including task prioritization and effective time management. You demonstrate the ability to work independently across multiple projects and systems in a fast-paced team environment with time pressures.
  • Effective Communicator: You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem Solver: You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and consistently strive to improve processes and gain efficiencies, including participation in the testing of new accounting and other system functionality.

The anticipated salary range is $100,000 to $130,000. Specific compensation will be determined based on your level of experience.

Given the nature of our business, we anticipate that all team members will be traveling from time to time, including company trips and off-sites, or meeting with strategic partners. As such, being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is a condition of employment at point.me. We’ll ask you to send us a copy of your vaccination card in advance of your first day.
