The position

At point.me, we’re on a mission to increase the spending power for millions of people by turning loyalty points into powerful currency. To achieve this vision, we need a Director of Strategic Accounts to proactively target, close, and nurture key airline partnerships, driving both new business acquisition and revenue expansion.

In this role, you will combine your strategic sales expertise with account growth skills, to directly contribute to point.me’s growth, positioning us as the leader in award travel solutions.

You will play a dual role: acquiring new airline and hotel partnerships to expand our network and driving growth for existing partners. Your ability to build trust, deliver value, and act as a strategic advisor will be critical to achieving our goals. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to implement solutions and deliver exceptional partner experiences.

What You'll Do

New Business Development

  • Own the Sales Process: Identify, prioritize, and engage with prospective partners to grow point.me’s supplier (airline, hotel, ancillary) network.
  • Craft Strategic Pitches: Develop tailored value propositions that align with partner goals and demonstrate the ROI of working with point.me.
  • Drive Negotiations: Lead contract discussions to secure commercially beneficial agreements, balancing immediate value with long-term relationship growth.
  • Build a Pipeline: Maintain a robust funnel of opportunities, leveraging data, research, and outreach to identify growth areas.
  • Hit a Target: You will have goals for number of partners onboarded, pipeline, and associated revenue.

Strategic Account Management

  • Manage Key Relationships: Act as the primary point of contact for airline partners, cultivating trust and ensuring long-term success.
  • Develop Account Plans: Create strategic growth plans for each partner to optimize award inventory visibility, adoption, and revenue performance.
  • Drive Expansion: Uncover opportunities to upsell or expand partnerships, including joint initiatives like marketing campaigns, data integrations, or exclusive offerings.
  • Conduct Business Reviews: Lead in-depth, data-driven quarterly business reviews, presenting performance insights, trends, and actionable growth strategies.

Collaboration and Insights

  • Voice of the Partner: Provide internal stakeholders (Product, Operations, and Marketing) with partner feedback, advocating for feature enhancements and process improvements.
  • Analyze Performance: Monitor partner KPIs, synthesize quantitative and qualitative insights, and proactively recommend strategies to address risks and seize opportunities.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends: Maintain a deep understanding of the airline loyalty, award travel, and distribution landscape to identify new opportunities for innovation.

Who You Are

  • Business Development: 8+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably in the airline, OTA, GDS, or loyalty industry, with expertise in subscription or marketplace models and understanding of award inventory dynamics.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Proven track record of acquiring and expanding strategic partnerships, with a focus on revenue growth and relationship development. Ability to identify partner goals, align solutions to drive measurable value, and navigate complex negotiations.
  • Lead with Influence: Ability to lead through influence to drive improvements for your customers in our product, marketing, and service experiences.
  • Data-Driven: Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to uncover insights, build compelling business cases, and influence decision-makers.
  • Strong Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, adept at engaging stakeholders from senior executives to operational teams.
  • Entrepreneurial: Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to achieving ambitious goals.
  • Tool Expertise: Experience managing CRM systems (e.g., Hubspot) for pipeline tracking, forecasting, and account planning.
  • Enthusiastic: Passion for travel, technology, and delivering world-class solutions.
