Summary: As a Financial Operations Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role on the Financial Operations team in ensuring the completeness and integrity of financial records within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to reconcile financial transactions and accounts, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain the financial health of the company. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure accordance with accounting standards and internal policies.
This role is a hybrid role that will work onsite 2 days per week at our Buffalo Grove, IL location. Occasional travel may be required as part of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Reconciliations: Perform routine reconciliations of financial records, including bank statements, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger accounts.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and help resolve basic discrepancies in financial data, escalating more complex issues as needed.
- Data Entry & Accuracy: Ensure accuracy in financial transactions and maintain organized records and supporting documentation.
- Reporting Support: Assist in preparing standard financial reports and summaries for internal use.
- Compliance: Follow internal controls and company policies to support compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and other departments to support day-to-day accounting operations.
- Automation: Explore opportunities for process automation and implement tools or systems to enhance efficiency in reconciliation tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Familiarity with general accounting principles and basic financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Great Plains is a plus.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the finance and accounting field.
The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $59,130.00 to $63,000.00 eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of proven experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand.
