The Department: Finance

The Financial Operations and Accounting Teams at Gemini are thought leaders in the digital asset accounting and reconciliation space. Our mandate is to bridge the traditional world of finance with the innovation of cryptocurrency products, providing our clients with a best-in- class financial institution experience.

The Role: Lead, Statutory & Regulatory Reporting

Gemini is seeking a motivated leader with a drive to operate in a high-growth environment and strong experience in statutory and regulatory to join the Irish office to support our European expansion plans. The position will be an entrusted cross-functional business partner supporting the Finance department and reporting to the Head of International Finance. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, experience with complex statutory & regulatory data requirements, and an ability to communicate complex ideas with a wide array of stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieves statutory and regulatory reporting objectives by supporting the European and UK finance teams with the below.
  • Preparation of Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Manages the annual internal and external safeguarding audit processes.
  • Maintains all regulatory policies and procedures in relation to key regulatory requirements such as safeguarding and capital adequacy.
  • Preparation and coordination of quarterly CESOP tax reporting.
  • Assistance with the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Reviews and files corporate and indirect tax reports in conjunction with local partners.
  • Production of MI reporting to support ongoing business decision making and licensing applications, including scoping of any additional reporting requirements.
  • Ad hoc support for information requests from regulators, banking partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Establishes statutory and regulatory reporting best practice by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analysing, verifying, and reporting financial and non-financial information.
  • Maintains reporting integrity by maintaining and monitoring internal controls.
  • An understanding of current and proposed statutory, regulatory and tax legislation and recommending new processes and procedures to address their impact.
  • Ad hoc global finance and accounting project support as required.

Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent) required.
  • An undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, finance, or related field.
  • 6+ years post qualification experience (PQE).
  • Experience in accounting within a regulated financial institution or tech industry is a plus.
  • Big 4 audit firm experience is a plus.
  • Experience with CBI or FCA regulatory reporting is a plus.
  • Experience with Transfer Pricing structures.
  • Experience with corporate tax and indirect tax preparation and filing a plus.
