The Department: Compliance
Compliance at Gemini is a team dedicated to managing the next generation of financial crime prevention and compliance obligations in a complex and evolving regulatory environment. We are a diverse group of technology, legal, and operational professionals who develop new approaches to solving classic problems using cutting-edge tools and processes.
The Role: Lead, Program Governance
In this role, you will be a key member of the Compliance Program Governance Team, where you will roll-up your sleeves and take part in building the future of money, while being a part of a best-in-class compliance department.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and executing Gemini’s AML and Sanctions Risk Assessment as well as jurisdictional risk assessments, including managing and executing on risk assessment methodologies
- Partnering with key Compliance and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure quantitative and qualitative inputs of the risk assessment are incorporated and validated
- Participating and executing on risk assessments of new products for Compliance
- Developing and reporting on key management information related to the risk assessment
- Maintaining Gemini’s Compliance issue management framework
- Interfacing and collaborating with different compliance teams and other departments such as Enterprise Risk and Internal Audit
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience within the financial services industry and specifically within compliance
- Prior experience performing Compliance Risk Assessments
- Experience and comfort with data extraction
- Strong knowledge of key BSA/AML and Sanctions regulations, Industry Best Practices, and Issue Management
- Comfort in a technology-forward company and facility with computer and web-based applications, including Google suite of applications, case management systems, and web-based databases
- Substantial writing skills and ability to articulate effectively to senior management
- BA/BS degree or international equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in fintech, or advancements in digital assets, or high-growth tech companies
- Ability to proactively assess risks in a fast-paced environment
- Record of creative problem-solving and excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interest in disruptive technology, financial services, or security industries
- Adaptability to an ever-changing environment

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $122,000 - $170,000 in New York City, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
