What we are looking for:

We seek an experienced Mobile Engineer with a strong background in building comprehensive user solutions and frontend infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of mobile development experience, ideally in React Native. We will prioritize candidates who have built a React Native app from scratch or who have meaningfully contributed to a production app.

You will lead large-scale projects for our app for EBT shoppers, which allows them to check their SNAP balance, collect rewards and more. You will ship critical projects and establish best practices for frontend development for the team. Your role will include improving frontend infrastructure and tooling, balancing business priorities with user experience and technical sustainability, and influencing our technical vision.

Collaboration is key; you will partner closely with product managers to prioritize a long product feature list.

Qualifications:

3+ years of mobile engineering experience building end-to-end user solutions
Experience in React Native, especially having built an app from scratch
Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives within your team, mentoring engineers through design and delivery, contributing meaningfully to roadmap discussions, and independently driving complex projects from design through execution

Key Responsibilities:

Lead large multi-engineer projects for the Forage EBT Shopper app.
Balance business priorities, user experience, and technical sustainability in trade offs when balancing new feature requests and necessary engineering improvements
Influence frontend development at Forage by sharing technical vision and providing guidance
Make teammates at Forage more effective through better frontend infrastructure and tooling
Mentor teammates and others around frontend best practices
Come into the New York office 2+ times a week

Our Offer:

This offer is for hybrid roles in New York only.

As of 03/02/2026, your base salary would fall within the bands below. Please keep in mind that the equity and variable portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at our headquarters in San Francisco, California. Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
