***This role will sit remotely in Ottawa, Canada.

What you will own in this role:

  • Work within a highly collaborative team to deliver a quality experience to our customers

  • Be involved and offer feedback at multiple touch points throughout the various lifecycle phases

  • Display critical thinking and analytical skills in proposing improvements to our workflow and codebase

  • Thrive in a fast-paced & fluid environment where you strive to deliver quality experiences

  • Deliver responsive realizations of the customer journey as defined by the Product Managers and Designers.

What you will own with the team:

  • Iterative improvements to the customer journey in close collaboration with Product Managers and Designers

  • Support feature teams with the advancement of their initiatives by being an advocate for the customer experience

The experience we believe is the right fit:

  • 3+ years of experience in web application development

  • Professional experience with React or another modern JavaScript web framework (Vue, Angular, Ember, etc.)

  • Knowledge of web and browser concepts (e.g., how the browser parses and constructs the DOM)

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts.

  • Passion for web performance optimization

  • Experience with writing automated tests (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Jasmine)

  • Ability to write clean, well-designed, and high-quality code in a highly collaborative Agile development environment

  • A mindset of constantly learning new things

  • Passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work, and challenging problems

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field

What experience is nice to have:

  • Working knowledge of Typescript

  • Knowledge of SCSS or other CSS preprocessors

  • Experience with ARIA and/or Semantic HTML

  • Modern CI/CD Tools (Github Actions, Gitlab)

  • APM tools (Datadog, Appdyanmics, New Relic)

  • Experience in a peak-performance organization, preferably a tech startup

  • Experience working with a global or otherwise multicultural team

  • Domain knowledge relevant to the product stage in which you are looking to join (e.g. someone with CI/CD experience applying for the Verify & Release team)
