About The Role

We are looking for a Compliance Operations Manager to own the day-to-day operational running of Crossmint's regulatory and compliance program across all jurisdictions.

This is not a policy-writing role. It is an execution role. You will sit at the intersection of Legal, Product, Engineering, and Finance, and your job is to make sure our regulatory obligations are met on time, with the right evidence, and without constant escalation to the GC.

You will manage license maintenance and regulatory reporting, build and evidence internal controls, coordinate cross-functional compliance workstreams, and act as the operational backbone of a Legal and Compliance function that is scaling fast across multiple regulated jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

License Maintenance and Regulatory Reporting

  • Own the regulatory reporting calendar across all active licenses (Banco de España, CNMV, FCA, FinCEN, and others as we expand), ensuring all periodic filings are prepared and submitted on time.

  • Gather and consolidate information from internal stakeholders — Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations — in response to regulatory requests and supervisory queries.

  • Prepare and review regulatory reports, returns, and supervisory submissions, coordinating with external counsel where required.

  • Track license conditions and ongoing obligations, flagging changes in regulatory requirements and maintaining a live compliance calendar.

Internal Controls and Evidence

  • Maintain and evidence Crossmint's internal controls framework, ensuring controls are documented, tested, and audit-ready across relevant frameworks (MiCA, PSD2, DORA, SOC 2, GDPR).

  • Support Legal and Compliance in identifying control gaps and coordinating remediation across the relevant business owners.

  • Manage the production and organization of compliance documentation, policies, and procedures, ensuring they remain current and accessible.

  • Own audit readiness for regulatory examinations and third-party audits, coordinating evidence collection and stakeholder responses.

Regulatory Project Management

  • Lead cross-functional implementation workstreams for new regulatory requirements and license applications, owning timelines, dependencies, and internal accountability.

  • Chase and coordinate internal stakeholders — including Engineering and Product — to deliver compliance requirements on time, without defaulting to the GC for every escalation.

  • Manage relationships with external counsel, PSPs, banking partners, and third-party vendors on compliance-related workstreams.

  • Support the opening of banking accounts and onboarding of regulated service providers across jurisdictions.

Cross-Functional Compliance Embedding

  • Work directly with Engineering and Product to ensure regulatory constraints are understood and reflected at the design and build stage — including data flows, API architecture, access controls, and incident management processes.

  • Coordinate the update of customer-facing materials (disclosures, terms, risk warnings) in response to regulatory changes.

  • Support the Financial Crime function as needed, including AML/CFT-related controls documentation and CDD processes.

About You

Required

  • 4–7 years of experience in compliance operations or financial services project management, within fintech, payments, capital markets, or regulated financial services.

  • Demonstrable experience managing regulatory reporting and license maintenance obligations — periodic returns, supervisory requests, condition tracking.

  • Structured project management skills: ability to run multiple concurrent workstreams, maintain delivery plans, manage dependencies, and hold stakeholders accountable without formal authority.

  • Technical fluency sufficient to work credibly with Engineering and Product: comfortable reading technical documentation, understanding system architecture, and translating regulatory requirements into technical constraints.

  • Experience maintaining and evidencing internal controls frameworks (DORA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or equivalent).

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken. Spanish is a strong asset given the Madrid base and the EU regulatory perimeter.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with MiCA, PSD2, or crypto-asset services regulation.

  • Experience in a Big Four firm or a technology/management consulting firm in a risk, regulatory, or technology advisory practice.

  • Exposure to AML/CFT controls, CDD processes, or FinCrime compliance operations.

  • Formal PM methodology (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum).

  • Experience supporting API-driven or infrastructure-focused product platforms in a compliance or risk capacity.

Why Join Crossmint?

This role offers direct exposure to a multi-jurisdictional regulatory program that is genuinely complex and genuinely important. You will work closely with the GC, with product and engineering leadership, and with external counsel across Spain, the UK, and the US.

If you are the kind of person who likes turning a regulatory obligation into a closed workstream — and who does not need hand-holding to make that happen — we would like to speak with you.
