Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Legal & AML Analyst Intern to join our Legal team. This position is ideal for a masters student or recent masters graduate who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in blockchain regulations and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance within the rapidly growing Web3 and NFT industry. The intern will support the Legal department in ensuring that Crossmint adheres to all applicable AML regulations and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
Review and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
Conduct legal research on various topics including Web3 technologies, digital assets, and NFTs.
Assist with administrative tasks, including document management and filing.
Support the Head of Legal with back-office tasks and legal research.
Monitor and analyze regulatory developments relevant to the Web3 industry, particularly related to Money Transmission Licensing in the USA and MiCA Licensing in the EU.
Assist in the development and implementation of AML policies and procedures, including customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance across the organization.
Assist in the preparation of legal and AML documentation and training materials.
About You
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Legal Masters Degree, ideally with a specialization in technology or AML.
Strong understanding of AML regulations, including the EU AML Directives and the US BSA
Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA and privacy regulations in general
Interest in Web3 technologies, digital assets, and NFTs.
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish
Strong knowledge of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT)
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous internship or work experience in AML compliance or fintech.
Familiarity with blockchain technology and digital assets compliance.
Certifications related to AML compliance (e.g., ACAMS) are a plus.
